
Participants waved rainbow flags and carried banners with slogans such as "Freedom" and "The problem is Orban." Many painted rainbows on their faces and wore colourful outfits as they danced and marched across the city.
"Everyone wants their freedom and to express their need for freedom. No one wants to live in oppression," said marcher Orsi Domdan. "Love is more important than power."
Orban's nationalist government has gradually curtailed the rights of the LGBTQ+ community in the past decade. In March, lawmakers passed legislation that allows for the ban of Pride marches, citing the need to protect children.
