"National ID ? "Measurement of Americaness @ Venice Biennale American pavilion 2007 by Biennalistpart of the "NATION NATIONALITY NATIONALISM " work by Biennalist Art Format .
Around the national pavilions, the Biennalist measures the nationality of their participants. TG/C and his team approach several visitors asking them for the self-assessment of their national identity and for some of their hair. The hair samples and self-measurements are collected in small plastic bags and subsequently exhibited floating in the air across a Venetian street called Sotoportego delle Colonne, a pun („MotOeuvre”) with Colonel, of which is an obvious choice for the exhibition.
