I moved to the US in 2008 so I've been here for a while, I really missed my dad and sister, her daughter and her husband and my dear friends back in Australia. This song came out of that of that feeling. About how each relationship is totally unique between two people. There are levels of 'goodbye', (loss and missing) and there is of course the endless one which leaves behind memories and secrets and pain. Looking at my dad lying there in the hospital room, we were in shock and numb from a few months of endless tears and pain. He had passed in the most awful of ways, and all I could get out of my mouth and out loud to him was "This is my last goodbye". Immediately all the electricity in the hospital went out... it was his last joke on us, his final contact. It was scary, awful... and brilliant.

I asked people to send me photos of people they missed to put in this video. Id heard the loveliest stories, some people had passed, some were just in another place and were missed. We all feel it differently but it's all a very intense feeling and I felt connected in a very special way to everyone.

This album of songs is about feelings, strong feelings we have in different situations, about different experiences we have as humans. After dad, I was unable to see death as a romantic notion anymore so this album is different to our last album 'Ghost Stories'...
