The welding industry has been facing a shortage of skilled welding operators over the last several years. According to the American Welding Society, the industry will need nearly 400,000 welding operators by 2024 to satisfy the demand.

Fluor, in collaboration with select industry experts from Liburdi Dimetrics and EPRI, has developed a new approach to answer this challenge. Fluor Senior Fellow Gary Cannell and Fluor Fellow Wayland May discuss case studies where current industry practices struggle to deliver required weld quality and a new welding execution approach to mitigate these challenges.
