Here we have a marvelous version of Ruby don’t take your love to town, titled Lisbeth du litar väl på mej?, roughly translated Lisbeth don’t you trust me?. The swedish lyrics are just outstanding, credited to Olle Bergman, a renowned singer, lyricist and guitarist from Sundbyberg, Stockholm, Sweden. Regarding the title and lyrics, I’d tell Lisbeth NOT to trust this guy!!! Haha! It was released in 1970 on Columbia. I don’t think it sold well as the 45 is pretty obscure. The backing band is Ivan Renlidens Orkester who was a well used studio orchestra who also backed more famous Swedish artists like Anni-Frid Lyngstad (better known as ”Frida” in ABBA) and Robert ”Robban” Broberg. I don’t know much about Jan Andersson, but I think his voice and vocals are wonderful!
