Just had an awesome conversation with Nate2timez, a producer and engineer from Atlanta with over 600 credits to his name. He started from scratch—no portfolio—and worked his way up by reaching out to every artist he could find. His key move? Building a diverse portfolio. He didn’t just stick to one genre, he branched out into Lofi, RnB, Pop, Indie, and more, making sure he had variety to showcase.

What really set him apart, though, was his approach to local networking. Nate made himself available to artists and studios in Atlanta, jumping on spontaneous opportunities to get in the room with high-profile artists and engineers. This willingness to be in the right place at the right time helped him establish himself as a talented collaborator and engineer. Now, he’s documenting the whole process via vlogs—showing the real work behind every track.

Nate’s workflow? He uses FL Studio for production, ProTools for tracking, and Ableton for sound design. Whether it’s sending out MIDI files to collaborate or working with others on full-length projects, Nate’s always refining his craft.

His advice for up-and-comers? Build your portfolio, keep your communication targeted, and be open to those local opportunities—you never know who you’ll meet in the studio.
