
The tamaraw is smaller and stockier than the common carabao, with distinct V-shaped horns, shorter legs, and a darker, thicker coat. It’s a shy, solitary grazer, making it incredibly difficult to find.
But decades of deforestation, poaching, and habitat loss have pushed it to the brink of extinction. Today, only around 300 to 600 are left in the wild.
