Do you remember what you studied last month? Forget about last month. Do you remember what you studied yesterday? If you don't remember yesterday's work, it's okay. Do you remember what you studied this morning? If you don't have an answer in all three, then this is where active recall might be very helpful for you. Every time you read a chapter, try to recall the sections. If I have read this chapter of geography, landforms, then how many types of mountains were there, how many types of plateaus were there, how many rivers are there, what all things are there. Review the sections after every chapter. And after covering every book, try to run in your mind once, what was the index of this book, which was the first chapter, which was the second, and what were the things in every chapter. This is hard. This requires effort and our brain doesn't like to put in this effort. But in the last month before prelims, if you can do this, I can guarantee you that your marks will start increasing slowly. Best of luck.

UPSC Civil Services Exam is one of the most prestigious exams in the country. It has three parts, the Prelims exam, the Main exam and the Personality test, which you need to clear in order to become an IAS or IPS officer. Doing static subjects like polity, economy, environment, geography and history for your UPSC preparation is a solid bet to increase your chances of clearing this exam. But this must all be supplemented by current affairs for best effect.
