The first WattKeys practice vlog! Hopefully it'll give you guys some insight into how I approach practicing and crafting the recordings that you typically hear on this channel (and give me more buffer from having to record so often lol).
I recorded this on March 7, about 2 months into learning this piece. I'm not sure why it took a long time for it to come together technically and musically; maybe it's because I'm not used to this sort of groovy feeling in what I play and my brain had a hard time assimilating and understanding it. Also, I was working on two other pieces that were also difficult for me to understand (one was very bright and jumpy, the other was more chromatic than I'm used to) which I suppose complicated the issue.
Oh and a bit more background, this day I was focusing mostly on musicality, so my mind wasn't on playing the right notes or working technicality, which is why I made more technical errors than usual and why some of them didn't get fixed. And this was a night practice sesh, so I was already kinda tired. Of course I had to cut a lot because otherwise it'd be a 45 minute long video, but you can see it if you're subbed on Patreon :)
We'll see how much of what I did today made it into the final version!
