But Bengaluru isn't alone. Beijing, Mexico City, Barcelona, Melbourne, and Cape Town are among 10 megacities that could be close to Day Zero—the critical point when a city or region's water reserves reach such low levels that the taps run dry. With global warming intensifying, cities everywhere are undergoing a stress test for survival.
However, in Bengaluru's case, experts believe that water literacy—understanding and managing water better—can help secure the city’s future.
