Hip Hop/Rap was a genre of Gospel in the 1930s. A female caller put Tommy Boy in check when she busted the industry for lying about rap music being a new phenomena. In 1984 there was no way to Google her claim. Here we provide a couple of Soundies to back the claim of the caller. Both Christians and Muslims were making Rap videos before the Zulu Nation was a thought in Afrika Bambaataa's mind. Peace.
