Carter announces his full support for efforts to achieve a peace following Egyptian President Anwar Sadat's visit to Jerusalem and meeting with Israel's President Menachem Begin. This set the stage for the Camp David Accords in 1978 and signing of a historic peace treaty in March 1979. Report includes a visit with Sadat in Egypt who tells us that Carter is not just a Georgia farmer, or politician: "He is a statesman."
