If you happen to visit some countries in Africa, you might not be willing to visit again because the environment is not appealing. This is because the governments of those countries have not invested in good waste management. Walking through the marketplaces, streets or even major roads in the capital city, you might be appalled by the dirty environment filled with organic and inorganic waste. While some governments are not doing anything about it, there are others who are not just concerned but have also taken actions to ensure that waste in the cities and even the rural areas in the country are properly taken care of. One such leader that has committed to proper waste management in his country is Captain Traore, Africa’s youngest President. Recently President Ibrahim Traore purchased lots of vehicles and other containers for waste management in Burkina Faso. These vehicles and containers have been distributed across the country including in the capital city, Ouagadougou. Interestingly, this is not even the first time that Traore’s government has done this in Burkina Faso. This is making it the second time that his government is investing heavily on waste management and this time he has bought more vehicles, equipment and materials needed to properly manage waste and keep the environment clean. The first investment in waste management in Burkina Faso was made in August 2023, exactly a year ago.
