Mal Evans was so much more than just a roadie for the Beatles.
He was a bouncer at the Cavern when he joined the Beatles in 1963.
When the Beatles stopped touring he remained very active with the Mop Tops. He recorded with them, became a record producer and as a talent scout for Apple, introduced Badfinger to the label.
Sadly, he died in 1976 when he was shot by Los Angeles police in his own home.
