The last chapter of the cyberpunk trilogy from Deus Ex Lumina brings Goth poetry, face-melting synthesisers and ethereal vocals out of this world.Deus Ex Lumina emerged from the Berlin darkwave/electroclash scene in 2018. After developing a signature, synth-driven sound, producer Gonzalo Schwindt achieved a gothic lyrical sensibility with the addition of vocalist Melyn McKay.
The duo’s dark dream pop tracks make the most of both talents - the unexpected blend of poetic storytelling and dream weaving electronic production prove once and for all that ‘genre’ is well and truly dead. What Deus Ex Lumina revive in its place, however, is an unforgettable sound somehow equally well suited to underground club scenes and swelling cinematic scores.
