Do EVs really wear out their tyres quicker?

Many will say that tyres on electric vehicles will wear out much faster due to the extra weight and torque in an EV. But is this the reality? The media often try to portray EVs in a negative light, so will use a high performance EV as an example. But the reality is that tyre wear on an EV is about the same as a like for like combustion engined vehicle.
In this example, I'm looking at the Goodyear Vector 4Season tyres I fitted to our 2020 Hyundai Ioniq 38kWh in Dec 2022. We've travelled 26,588 since and currently the tyres are 64% worn on the front (driving wheels) and only 30% worn on the rear wheels. If the wear continues at the same rate to the UK legal minimum 1.6mm tread, the front tyres will do 41,500 miles on the front and 86,500 on the rear! That's impressive, especially considering these are all-season tyres.
