Terra, known in the oldest chronicles as "Earth," stands as the Throneworld of the Imperium of Man and the birthplace of both humanity and the God-Emperor. It holds unparalleled significance as the holiest and most venerated site among the million worlds that make up the Imperium. Countless billions of human pilgrims journey from across the galaxy to Terra, where even the desolate and polluted ground they tread upon is regarded as sacred by those devoted to the Imperial Creed.

Terra functions as a planet-wide shrine devoted to the worship of the Emperor of Mankind. It hosts the central command centers for numerous key adepta of the Imperium, serving as the administrative heart of the Emperor's dominion. However, the inhabitants of Terra harbor a deep-seated fear of Space Marines, rooted in the traumatic history of the Horus Heresy.
