We spent several years learning about construction before breaking ground and have learned a lot along the way.

Tasks we chose to hire share a common theme: they require specialty equipment, specialty skill, or several sets of hands simultaneously.

Here’s what we hired out:

1️⃣ Well drilling
2️⃣ Excavation: digging stumps after logging, cutting a level pad, grading & compacting driveway, digging footer trench
3️⃣ Laying CMU foundation walls
4️⃣ Placing/finishing slab
5️⃣ Framing 2nd floor & roof
6️⃣ Metal roof, soffit, fascia install
7️⃣ Well pump placement
8️⃣ Sand mound septic system (helped)
9️⃣ ~50% Hardie siding
1️⃣0️⃣ ~50% natural stone veneer
1️⃣1️⃣ Seamless gutters
1️⃣2️⃣ Drywall hang & finish
1️⃣3️⃣ Quartz countertops
1️⃣4️⃣ Glass shower door fabrication
