Kardell Thomas, Colorado's new transfer OL, goes in depth on joining Buffaloes: 'I'm coming to earn a role'.

Kardell Thomas knows that you probably consider the past few years of his career a "quiet phase." Thomas, at one point, ranked as a five-star offensive lineman in the 2019 class, a 6-foot-4, 320-pound big man who went viral for his speed in a 100-meter dash.
Thomas, who finished as a top-100 prospect in the 2019 cycle, ultimately picked LSU and spent four seasons with the program. He started a few games but injuries in 2019 and 2022 slowed him down. So following the 2022 season, he entered the transfer portal and picked Florida A&M over several FBS opportunities.
That's probably about the time Thomas went off your radar. But he popped back in a big way last week when he flipped his transfer commitment from Central Missouri to Colorado.

Thomas is now on campus with the Buffaloes and hopes to make a rapid impression for an O-line that's undergoing the biggest overhaul in college football.
"I want to come in and help them win," Thomas told 247Sports. "I want to be that guy in the run game and pass game that can get his job done. I realize I'm a few weeks late, but I'm coming in to earn a role and be on the field Aug. 29."
Shedeur Sanders and Shilo Sanders have been in contact with Thomas for years. They wanted him to transfer from LSU to Jackson State. Then they wanted him at Colorado when Thomas ultimately picked FAMU out of the transfer portal last year.
