Come join us for an Argentinean Asado in Villa General Belgrano as we try a typical Argentine barbecue featuring numerous kinds of meats and offal. As per usual we arrived at the restaurant a little bit early, so we decided to take a riverside walk in Villa General Belgrano to kill a bit of time. If you arrive for dinner at 8 PM in Argentina you'll definitely get a few stares and reveal yourself as a gringo. Typical dinner time would be from 9:30 PM to 11PM when restaurants really start to fill up.

Our Argentine Parrilla featured a delicious assortment of various meats and organs which we washed down with a Malbec wine. If you're visiting Villa General Belgrano and want a delicious asado for dinner you can find more information below:

🇦🇷🔥 Argentine Parrilla Night: Classic BBQ Feast & Local Traditions | Argentina Food Vlog 🥩🍷

🕗 Early Arrival & Parrilla Anticipation

The video kicks off with the excitement of finally sitting down for a much-anticipated Argentine parrilla (BBQ) dinner after a failed attempt at lunch. The hosts arrive early—even before the restaurant opens—to ensure a good table and first dibs on the grill. While waiting, they stroll along a peaceful river path, soaking up the local scenery and building up their appetite for the epic meal ahead.

🍽️ Menu, Wine & Setting the Table

Once inside, they admire the cow-themed plates and an extensive menu packed with all the essential meats and cuts. They order a parrillada for two, which includes a variety of meats and offal:

Chorizo (sausage)

Morcilla (blood sausage)

Chinchulín (intestine)

Riñón (kidney)

Vacio (flank steak)

Asado de tira (short rib)

Salad

Chicken

Sam selects a bottle of Bodega Bianchi Malbec—a classic Argentine pairing for grilled meats—describing it as “velvety smooth and packed with flavor.” Wine is poured over ice, in true local fashion. 🥂

🥗 Starters: Salad & Bread

To balance out the heavy meal, they start with a completa salad, featuring lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, onions, hard-boiled eggs, beetroot, corn, and potato. It’s light, refreshing, and a perfect counterpoint to the upcoming meats. They nibble on fresh bread, careful not to fill up before the main event.

🔪 First Round: Offal & Sausages

The first platter arrives with the more adventurous cuts: chorizo, morcilla, chinchulín (intestines), and riñón (kidneys).

Blood sausage is rich, creamy, almost pudding-like—a nostalgic favorite for Audrey.

Intestines are greasy, chewy, and surprisingly delicious—better than expected, especially compared to the tough, organ-y kidneys.

Chorizo is flavorful, and everyone is eager to dig in.

Kidneys receive mixed reviews for their rubbery texture and strong flavor.

🥩 Second Round: Prime Cuts & Chicken

Next up are the “star” cuts—vacío, asado de tira, and juicy grilled chicken (with crispy skin and a splash of lemon). The meat is tender and flavorful, some with bones and fat, others leaner. Everyone agrees this is the highlight, even as they start to regret that earlier bread binge. The portion size is generous—enough for leftovers.

🍮 Dessert: Pancakes with Dulce de Leche

Despite being stuffed, they order a classic Argentine dessert: panqueque de dulce de leche (crepe filled with caramelized milk, dusted with icing sugar). It’s warm, gooey, and the perfect sweet finish after all that meat.

🐶 Doggie Bags & Stray Friends

With plenty of leftovers, the hosts box up extra meat and share it with local stray dogs by the bus station, giving back to the community in a small but meaningful way.

💸 Value Recap & Experience

Total bill: 1200 pesos (about $30 USD) for two—a bargain for:

A full bottle of quality Malbec wine

Bread and salad

Two full courses of assorted meats

Dessert to share

By 9:30 PM the place is packed, showing how locals dine late and make parrilla a real event. The hosts praise the quality, portion size, and value, strongly recommending the experience to anyone visiting Argentina.

🥩 Final Thoughts

The video wraps with happy, satisfied hosts reflecting on a true Argentine BBQ feast—highlighting the flavors, hospitality, and unique food culture.

If you’re in Argentina, parrilla is a must!
