Built in the mid-1400s, Achindoun Castle was once the stronghold of the powerful Cochrane, Ogilvy, and Gordon families. Its history is steeped in betrayal, sieges, and clan rivalry ⚔️ — including a violent attack in 1592, when the castle was stormed and burned during a feud between the Gordons and the Mackintoshes.
Of course, Scott couldn’t resist the chance to re-enact one of the historic battles at the foot of the ruined walls — complete with dramatic narration and some wind-blown theatrics 🤺🎭. Katie, meanwhile, braves the gusts to soak in the views and reflect on the lives once lived here.
This episode is a peaceful yet vivid escape into Scotland’s ancient past, filmed with love, laughter, and a lot of windblown hair 💨🎥. Perfect for fans of history, nature, and a good castle adventure.
