Painted in 1792 when Turner was just 17, The Rising Squall is his only known oil painting of the city and it’s going to auction on 2 July.

We’re launching a bold public campaign to raise £100,000 in one week. We aren't using any council funding, so we’re asking for your help.

If we get the Turner, this extraordinary, rediscovered painting will go on display at Bristol Museum & Art Gallery this summer, free for everyone.
