In the Yumen Nanshan region of the Qilian Mountains, researchers recorded a rare and touching moment of tenderness between a pair of dholes. In the video, a female dhole sits in front of the camera, and upon closer inspection, you can see that her front leg is injured. Moments later, a male dhole appears, snuggles up to her affectionately, and begins carefully licking her wound to help it heal. Afterward, the exhausted male falls into a deep sleep, while the injured female stays alert, keeping watch for him.
