Life will never be the same…

I wondered for weeks what the first thing I would document with the new #fujifilmx100vi. My upcoming travels? Models from my next workshop? Behind the scenes from my next shoot? So many ideas…

Then on the day I had planned to film a deboxing video of the X100vi, I found out my dad has been diagnosed with cancer.

I felt the universe was telling me to document my parents, so I visited them and showed them the new camera.

My 2 favorite responses from them were:
1. Are you sure it’s new? It looks old.
2. You already have cameras… why did you get another? 😝

We just got the biopsy results so there’s more testing before we can get any answers, but in the meantime, I’m hopeful.

Regardless of the outcome, this day has forever changed how we approach life, and I had to document the beginning of this new chapter. (Notice how we always know when the chapters in our lives begin, but often not when it’s about to end?)

I can’t control the cancer, but I can control how I spend my time, and structure my business to value my priorities first (as I teach in my business course, Like Nobody’s Business.)

I’ll be taking some time to reflect, reprioritize, and restructure things around here. Let me know if you have tips for me on how to navigate this new journey! What are things/ideas I should consider regarding cancer and/or aging parents?
