In this vlog, we share the story of how we acquired some beautiful antique pieces for our 18th-century Scottish cottage—items with real history, sourced from the North Free Church in Inverness.
Built in 1893 and designed by renowned architect Alexander Ross, the North Free Church is a striking example of Victorian ecclesiastical architecture. Though we didn’t film inside the church itself, we were warmly welcomed by Brian, one of the trustees, who kindly allowed us to select a few unique items in exchange for a donation to the church fund.
These pieces, once part of a historic place of worship, will now bring character and soul to our home. We’re excited to give them a new life in our cottage, and to support the preservation of such a significant building in the process.
Join us as we talk about the items we picked up, their stories, and how we plan to use them in our restoration journey.
