- Sometimes in Japan when you talk to a Japanese person, even if you speak to them in Japanese, they will try to respond to you in English. The problem is a lot of the time they can't really speak English at all. Some of my foreign friends complain about this because their Japanese is really good, but Japanese people still try to talk to them in English anyway.
