This island is known as the surfer's paradise in the Philippines, but besides... the ladies (and men), there’s more to this island than just awesome waves. This is Siargao Island in Surigao del Norte. It's named from the Visayan word "siargaw" which means a special kind of mangrove tree that grows a lot on the islands. Long ago, it was named Isla de las Palmas or “Palm Island,” charted by the Spaniards in the 16th century. Even though this island is more famous for surfing, it showcases its untouched beauty, vibrant culture, and all sorts of amazing adventures, including a wide view of the Pacific Ocean, which is, of course, endless kilometers of water.
