Electric vehicles are less efficient when driving on A-roads and motorways, due to the high speeds and no slowing down for corners, roundabouts, junctions etc, so no regen braking. During this trip, which was a total of 3 hours of driving, I averaged 4.8mpkWh. This would give a total range of 250 miles from the 52kWh battery.
As you can see from the video, I was driving at the road speed at the time, which was mostly at 65mph. So an efficiency of 4.8mpkWh was impressive. If the roads were quieter and I was able to drive that little bit faster (the UK speed limit is 70 mph), then I would suspect the average efficiency would drop to about 4.5mpkWh.
