*CHROME DYNASTY* emerged from the vibrant New York disco scene in 1977, founded by producer/guitarist Marcus Clarke and synthesizer virtuoso David "Digital" Walsh. The duo's vision was to create a unique fusion of disco-funk and electronic pop, drawing inspiration from both contemporary dance music and futuristic soundscapes.

The addition of vocalist Sarah Wells and bassist Tom "The Groove" Harrison in early 1978 completed the band's classic lineup. Their sophisticated blend of warm analog synthesizers, clean funk guitars, and soulful vocals quickly caught the attention of Pulse Records, leading to their debut album "Retro-Futuristic Romance" in 1979.

Known for their meticulous production and innovative use of vocoders and early drum machines, Chrome Dynasty created a distinctive sound that bridged the gap between traditional funk and emerging electronic music. Their live performances at legendary venues like Paradise Garage and Studio 54 became known for their perfect balance of organic musicianship and electronic elements.
