Editing Tags & The Properties Panel
Properly tagged audio is the best way to find what you are looking for. Luckily, the Loopcloud team has done most of the heavy lifting for you on our 4 million+ sounds. Even when you import your own sounds, Loopcloud will try its best to add correct tags for you. However, if you want to edit any tags on your imported sounds or even sounds you’ve purchased from Loopcloud you can.
The properties Editor is where you can add or remove tags and the process will be the same for your Loopcloud sounds, you imported sounds, synth presets, MIDI files, Loops and one shots.
Once you have a sound file selected you will see a waveform preview, the pack art and a button to see it in your library or in the store if the sound was store bought.
Below that is where you can add or remove tags of the sound for following categories; instruments, genres, labels, key, content type, and formats. There is also a space for Additional Information.
This is a perfect segway into creating custom tags. To create a tag click the Manage Tags button at the top of the Properties Editor panel. Here next to any parent or child tag there is a 3-dot menu, click that to add a tag to that section. You will be able to rename and delete these tags, but not the main Loopcloud tags.
Below that is the Audio Attributes Section where you can see the BPM, Swing, Rhythmic Density, Tone, and other audio file information. If you are wondering what the Swing and Rhythmic Density are all about see my Auto Filters video linked below.
Further down, you will see the File Information.
Now, another quick note, if you select multiple files, you can edit their tags in groups. This even works with folders or multiple folders.
Just use caution, what could start as a massive boost in productivity could quickly turn into a nightmare if you aren’t careful.
