This video is a review of the Soundbrenner Pulse Metronome. It is advertised as the first wearable metronome. I have had my sights on this product for a year or two before I finally purchased it and finally decided to give it a go. The Soundbrenner pulse is a great product for not only percussionists but all musicians. I imagine it would be a great tool for athletes as well (in terms of training). Focusing on a vibration to keep time takes some getting use too, especially for a percussionist. The consistent visceral motion of the body and impact of the drum causes the Soundbrenner to potentially be drowned out. I have discovered however that making the pulses stronger than the maximum available is not necessarily what is needed but rather, focusing on dynamics and concentrating on the body part it is strapped too. This may potentially increase concentration and further develop timekeeping skill. One of the major drawbacks I experienced (there are not very many at all in my opinion) is the issue of being disconnected from the app. My Soundbrenner tends to have problems connecting to the app via blue tooth every now and then. This is easily solved however with a reset option in which you attach the Soundbrenner upside down to the charging unit. This resets the Soundbrenner and it connects instantly thereafter. All of this being said, the following is a short list of pros and cons.

Pros: Strength of vibrating pulses
Ability to change duration and strength of pulses
Multitude of options within the app as it pertains to time
signatures, timer, accents
Light schemes can be changed within the app
Durable
Durable strap

Cons: Has trouble connecting with app at times
short delay after setting tempo by tapping
No landscape option with app on the iPhone
