The most popular song off of Nirvana's debut album with the legendary Sub Pop records, About a Girl was a love song that Cobain wrote and seemed almost ashamed of it when he presented it to the producer. According to the producer "It seemed almost like Cobain was trying to justify putting a love song on his album to me." Nevertheless the song received radio airplay and Kurt's love song gave DGC records a reason to sign the soon to be world-famous garage band.
