This week, we're back at the old barn, making another big stride in its renovation. Last winter, Philippe broke up the old concrete floor, which once served the cows when this was a family-run dairy farm a long time ago—perfect for those long, rainy days. After that, the platform inside the barn was removed, opening up the space all the way to the roof.
With winter settling in and the excavation behind the barn nearly finished, we're ready for the next phase. The next step is to remove the beams that once supported the old platform. My dad joined Philippe for the task, and together they carefully planned how to remove the beams while keeping the barn's roof secure. Afterward, they also removed the old wooden cow feeders, which we plan to reuse for another project in the future.
We spent quality time working, talking, and enjoying the sunny days. As the temperatures drop, I also prepared a cozy winter dish! Be sure to check out the video to see the progress and the delicious meal we made.
