Today we're bringing you an old-school travel vlog as we begin the long two-day journey to Patagonia.
This is our first trip in I don't know how long! The past half year has been dominated by house renovations, so we thought it was about time we took a little break to decompress and get back to travel vlogging.

Of course, we decided to go back to Patagonia - one of our favourite places in the world! We last visited in 2019 (right before you know what!), so another visit was long overdue.

This time around we're hoping to revisit some new-to-us places and some old favourites. Also, it just so happens to be autumn in Patagonia and that means the fall foliage is popping.

🌅 Kickoff at the Bus Terminal

Well, good morning, good morning friends! From the bus terminal, we can’t contain our excitement—it’s time to head on a trip to our favourite place in the world: Patagonia!

🚍 Bus & Café Stop in Córdoba

Packed up and caught a ride into town with our great friend Inez.

While killing time at a café, we got some work done and tackled a super milanesa (and couldn’t even finish it!).

Next up: boarding a 2-hour bus into Nueva Córdoba—but first, we might grab some “dogs” (hot dogs!) for the road.

🛏️ Apartment Tour & Serpentine Stories

Arrived at a lovely Airbnb (~USD 40/night), just nine blocks south of the bus terminal.

Scenic coach ride full of winding roads—prompted a childhood barf-bag tale from when mom used to collect them on that route!

Apartment highlights: an Argentine bidet bathroom, fancy instant-hot shower, and a spacious bedroom perfect for a quick rest.

🍽️ Dinner Plans & Good-Luck Bird Poop

Debated whether to dive into local Argentine cuisine or hunt for Asian flavours—Sam craved Thai, but I was happy with parrillada!

Pro tip: a pigeon pooped on my backpack at the terminal—apparently that’s good luck for our Patagonia adventure! 🕊️

🍰 Merienda at Ethiopia Café

Stopped at Ethiopia Café de Especialidad for cake, smoothies, and lemonade—no coffee, so we actually get some sleep tonight.

🥢 Authentic Thai Dinner in Güemes

Discovered a Bangkok-themed restaurant in Córdoba’s Güemes district, complete with 7-Eleven signs and Asian snacks.

Savoured Pad Thai and a fragrant curry—just the change of pace after weeks of pasta, pizza, and empanadas!

✈️ Airport & Flight to Bariloche

Made it through the airport (“tulsable” anyone?), buzzing about autumn colours and fall vibes.

Spotted a controlled burn field near landing—looks like bright yellows, reds, and oranges await in Bariloche! 🍂

🏔️ Arrival at Estancia El Carmen

Checked into Estancia El Carmen—views so stunning they felt otherworldly (think Vietnam levels of wow!).

Low-season quiet on the roads, with intense fall foliage framing every window.

🥾 Patagonia Adventure Itinerary

Full-day Trek to Laguna Verde (with a hearty countryside lunch).

Horseback Ride around Lake Gutierrez (complete with a lakeside barbecue).

💡 Insider Booking Tip

Always compare prices: booking.com showed USD 100/night, but the hotel’s own site was USD 66!

Remember: many remote lodgings close for winter, so plan off-season stays carefully.

⏰ Late Dinner & Fuel for Exploration

Typical Argentine dinner doesn’t kick off until 8 PM—so we waited five long hours!

When it finally opened, we indulged in steak with mushroom sauce and rich goulash. 🤤

⚡ Gear Charging Station Chaos

Unpacked all our camera gear, drones, batteries, and laptops—our charging station now looks like mission control!

🌙 Good Night & What’s Next

Dinner was phenomenal, sleep is calling, and we can’t wait to dive into our Patagonian adventures.
