In this video, I demonstrate how to build a toggle switch circuit using BJTs (BC547) with a relay, suitable for switching AC/DC loads. The circuit toggles ON/OFF with each press of a push-button and uses a latching mechanism built from two BC547 transistors.

Modifications I made:

Used double BC547 transistors instead of BC547 + BC337.

Added an LED with a 1k resistor for visual indication.

Connected a 1N4007 diode across the relay coil as a flyback diode to protect transistors from back EMF.

Extended Features:

Connected a clap switch using PC817 optocoupler to trigger the toggle circuit hands-free.

Also tested the toggle with an IR transmitter and receiver for remote switching.

Component Highlights:

BC547 NPN transistors

12V relay (RL1)

1N4007 flyback diode

PC817 optocoupler

IR sensor module

LED indicator

This project is perfect for DIY home automation, allowing you to control lights, fans, or other appliances using clap sound or IR remote without a microcontroller.
