Commuters can expect the first phase of the Barbados Transport Board's cashless system to be rolled out on the first of next month.
This has been confirmed by Chief Operations Officer Lynda Holder.
She was a guest on Mornin' Barbados.
Ms. Holder says following the elderly population, students will be issued with cards to use in a similar fashion.
Police officers will also be included in the month of December, and finally other members of the travelling public on January 1.
She says all vehicles under the Transport Augmentation Programme (TAP) will also be included.
