For this week's Record of the Week, we're dipping into upbeat territory, something to get you moving, ya know? Some of you are familiar with "House Bastid" (my Top Grillin' & stream crew definitely know that guy), and if you're not, I suggest you scrub the stream archives for some of that action. I like funky music of all kinds and this one has a great groove that has been sticking with me, and specifically I'm calling on my DJs and house heads to peep this one, cause it might stick with you too.

Built around a sassy Joyce Wrice vocal sample, producer Kutcorners says it is "inspired by... classic 90’s New Jersey, Chicago, and French touch joints". When you push play, you'll hear that. The sped-up R&B vocal sounds almost UK garage-like, but the bass line and drums keep it in more in house territory. No matter the nomenclature, it knocks.
