😍 Welcome to… the Cook Islands!!! Here is a brief overview...
👉 It's not a country?! 🤔 The Cook Islands is not officially on the 193 UN country list. So why are we counting it as a country? In 2023, the USA officially recognized the Cook Islands and Niue as independent countries. And since we are from America, and did not want to leave any country out, we are traveling to every country both on the UN and USA lists!
👉 The population of the entire is less than 20,000 people. That means the entire country could fit inside a basketball arena! 😱
👉 The Cook Islands are most closely related to New Zealand. New Zealand supports things like education, healthcare, defense, and economic development in the islands. They use the same currency. Many Cook Islanders travel to and live in New Zealand.
👉 There are 15 islands in total! But most people live on 2 of them. Aitutaki is known to have some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
👉 Apparently, no building can be taller than a coconut tree! 🌴😜
