
There are two different subsequent sections, one in the key of E minor and the other in G major.
In the "dark" E minor section all chords are "on E". The bass notes stay on E while the chords above change. (Pedal point).
The more cheerful section explores the parallel major key (G major) but always returns to the "dark" E minor key, the minor parallel of G major.
All chords can be played as "open chords" using "open strings". But of course you can play these chords in any fingering or inversion.
