_NOTE: This has been dubbed from a Canadian pressing. As you’ll be able to tell, it’s a bit of a noisy copt…I tried to remaster it the best I could without impacting sound quality!_

You know, I wish I could give a bio here…but practically nothing is known about Harumi! Even my usual bio source “Fuzz Acid And Flowers” doesn’t say much about him.

What is known is he recorded this stunning 2LP album under the watchful eyes of Tom Wilson and released it on the Verve Forecast label, then vanished into obscurity. It’s been bootlegged a few times over the years.

The first LP (tracks 1-11) are fantastic psychedelic soul with pop elements. The second LP (tracks 12 and 13) are intriguing…the first side of it is a spoken poem piece with traditional Japanese instruments, while the second side is a full blown “Sister Ray” esque psychedelic freakout featuring (apparently) Harumi’s parents screaming.

A very interesting piece of music. Certainly not for everyone (especially that second LP), but a rewarding listen nonetheless!
