Ted Nugent blasts DNR over deer hunting regulations

Michigan rocker and avid hunter Ted Nugent gave fiery testimony blasting deer hunting regulations this week at a joint Michigan House committee meeting. Rather than implementing common sense policies and working with hunters, Nugent said the state’s Department of Natural Resources has maintained an antagonistic relationship with hunters and driven them out of the state.

DNR spokesperson Ed Golder pushed back on Nugent’s assessment that the department is responsible for the decline in Michigan hunters and that the DNR isn’t being flexible with hunting licenses in overpopulated areas. The hunter decline is part of a national trend, Golder said.
