"Once again YouTube and certain "copyright owners" (SME, INgrooves) are up to their dirty tricks. This time I was going through some of my mixes and noticed that the original 1989! mix had been completely blocked, for one measly song, Mr. Lee Get Busy (Club Mix) and this is the scummy excuse for it and I quote:
"Metadata is hidden, as the content in question has not been made publicly available by its provider."
LMFAO that's right, they tried hiding the track they were copyright striking, this isn't the first time SME (Sony Music Entertainment) have done this either, almost every copyright strike I get is from these clowns, and unfortunately I'm not the only one they go after, if you search for "SME copyright strikes", you will find these jokers are staunch and do it with almost everything, including content they don't even OWN!!!!!
These are the type of snakes us DJs and content creators have to deal with on a constant basis here on YouTube and is the reason why most don't bother with this platform because they simply don't protect nor care about us, unless we're making them a bucket load of cash.
It boggles my mind that I can upload these mixes pretty much anywhere else and don't have to bother about copyright infringements, YouTube are owned by one of, if not, the biggest companies in the world in Google and they're too stingy to pay royalties to rights holders, where as much smaller sites like Mixcloud can and do, it's truly pathetic.
The real kicker is and this makes absolutely zero sense, you can find that track uploaded to a plethora of YouTube channels, so why are they allowed to upload it in it's entirety and quite possibly monetize of it and I'm not allowed to put a few minutes of it in a mix for FREE????? Honestly, where the f is the logic in that?
Anyway rant over but I'm honestly getting sick and tired of having to do this, this platform is really frustrating to use at the best of times unfortunately."
