
In other words, an appreciation of the instant as well as the eternal is necessary for the affirmation of life. The impulsive "Yes" on its own is not enough, nor is the philosophical or religious rationale.
Furthermore, those who have not first-hand experienced the pleasures of struggle and becoming, and who have not been able to dive willingly into uncomfort just as much as into gratification are separated from the principle level of life-vindication, and thus their uncouth judgements on "meaning" in life are negated (a les existentialists).
