Film Noir femme fatale Kathie Moffat is one of the deadliest women in film. She takes center stage in the 1947 classic film noir "Out of the Past," manipulating and murdering her way through one of the greatest noir films of all time.
Played by Jane Greer, who was just 22 years old at the time of filming, Kathie is beautiful and worldly. She wraps both Kirk Douglas and Robert Mitchum around her finger. Kathie may think she's in love, but that only lasts until she can discover an angle she can work.
Unlike her femme fatale counterparts, Kathie has no fixed motivations and no real endgame. She's rotten for the sake of being rotten. She desires to control the situations and men in her life and adjusts her motives to suit her needs in a particular moment.
She's a noir MVP.
