Moll Dyer was a woman who lived in Maryland, USA in the 17th century. The reclusive woman was accused of witchcraft and chased out of her house by an angry mob of villagers on a cold winter night. Her body was found a few days later and is said to have partially frozen to a large stone.
Moll Dyer is considered a historical model for The Blair Witch franchise.
