In 1993 — fresh off the release of their debut EP, 'Opiate,' the year before — TOOL played two shows at the Scientology Centre in Hollywood, California. The concerts have since become the stuff of legend. A young comedian named David Cross first heard about TOOL when he saw an ad for the shows — and not long after, he would welcome singer Maynard James Keenan (fronting a then-fictional band called Puscifer) onto his HBO sketch comedy series 'Mr. Show.' Nearly 30 years later, REVOLVER reunited Cross and Keenan, enlisting the former to interview the latter. In this excerpt from their weird, insightful and hilarious convo, they look back on TOOL's infamous Scientology Centre shows.
