The 26-year Grammy winner has been making great waves recently - from becoming the third ever woman to win Rap Album of The Year, to going viral for her breathing in Denial Is A River. But recently, fans started paying attention to her fashion style: more specifically, the stylist choice to wear face tape.Face tape is often used by people as a temporary technique to lift up the skin, and for many on beauty and wellnesstok, it's a hack that is claimed to act as a DIY face lift without the surgical procedure. However, those wearing it typically hide it by covering it up, placing it far back at each side of the face, and concealing it.
Doechii, however, does the opposite, making it a centrepiece of her look. This has received criticism, with some questioning the choice.
The rapper took to TikTok to respond to the fashion police in a video titled ‘addressing the face tape’. This started a new trend on TikToks, with many of her fans trying to recreate the look. In an interview with the New York times, Doechii’s stylist, Sam Woolf explained “she likes exposing something that is meant to be hidden.
