At first I thought this game was garbage. I still think that. But it has made noticeable improvements to my typing skills. Especially when I'm about to duke in my trousers. Just kidding. This game is neither scary nor funny. But its a great typing game as far as that's concerned.

My review from Steam:
There are many things to consider when reviewing Typing of the Dead.
The first, and perhaps the most important thing is that yes, this is a game where you kill zombies by typing. Sometimes its single letters, sometimes its words, sometimes it's entire sentences.
Even on the lowest difficulty, the speed you are expected to type at in order to survive is surprisingly high. This is clearly a game meant for very advanced typists. I usually average a sloppy 59 wpm in online typing tests and I found the easy setting to be surprisingly tough.
The DLC adds multiple silly words to your dictionary, Some of these DLC words can be very complex and easy to mispell. Luckily the game forgives you for not capitalizing words, using hyphens or hitting the space bar. If you can smash letters fast enough, and remember to press TAB to collect the various goodies, you will be able to finish this game in a few hours.

There is a bit of replay value in topping ones score and collecting audio, models, comics, and other items that are hidden throughout each level.

The bad:
The writing is pretty bad, even by (2014?) standards. It is like if Saints row 3 was completely devoid of humor. I get what they are going for, but much of the humor completely falls flat. With a few notable exceptions. The constant film grain gets old fast as it obscures most of the visuals which already don't look great.

Verdict: If you want to get faster at typing, PLAY THIS GAME. It is an amazing way to speed up. However if you are even slightly too slow you will struggle on any difficulty, especially if you use any of the silly DLC packs to expand the dictionary. Do not expect a good story or anything really redeeming about the gameplay. The on rails shooter version of the game is also availible, which adds plenty of replay value.
