I want to do something uncool. I want to celebrate the West.

And I invite you to join in.

It’s said that for evil to flourish, all it takes is for good people to do nothing.

Well perhaps for good to flourish, all it takes is for good people to join, connect, affirm the good we value and do all else that we can.

First, let us celebrate, recognize, affirm all the many good things about the West, human rights, freedom of speech.

One last thing: I'm celebrating the West - but we can also all celebrate, for instance, India, an ancient long-flourishing culture that also, now, is being encroached - and has so many forces within it, some working against it and others working toward its strengthening.

I'm speaking of celebrating the West because, first, there is much to celebrate, and second, especially in the media but also from people around me, I hear it so frequently criticized and denounced - no balance.
