David Littleproud expected to retain Nationals leadership with ‘overwhelming support’

Shadow trade minister Kevin Hogan discusses reports Matt Canavan will challenge David Littleproud for the Nationals leadership.

“I spoke to Matt this afternoon and I said good on you, have a go, I mean the first meeting after an election, there’s a spill of positions naturally,” Mr Hogan told Sky News host Danica De Giorgio.

“Matt wants to use that opportunity to make a position and to make a statement.

“That being said, I don’t think Matt will get very close to winning – I think David has the overwhelming support of the room.”
